You play a retired war hero turned freelance bounty hunter who is drawn back into a fight against space pirates threatening the universe. Comic-style scenes between missions tell the story, which uses absurd humor.
The campaign spans 43 side-scrolling levels. Fly through different environments, shoot enemy waves, avoid projectiles and hazards, and face boss monsters along the way.
Earn money and use it to equip and upgrade weapons, ships, and special devices. Experiment with different loadouts for each mission; after completing the campaign, you can replay it at a higher difficulty with your ship and upgrades intact.
Players frequently praise the energetic soundtrack, the large selection of weapons and the fun of experimenting with ship loadouts. Reviews also enjoy the explosive action and absurd humor.
