99 Levels to Hell is a platform shooter in which you descend through dungeons, fighting monsters on the way toward a final confrontation with the devil. Each run reshuffles the levels.
Shoot and platform through each floor using a selection of guns, magic, upgrades, and other power-ups. Shops, casinos, and elevators can also appear in the dungeons.
Every tenth level ends in a boss fight, and defeating it opens the route to the next dungeon. Searching for secret rooms can reveal story details and unlock adventurers for later runs.
Some players enjoy the randomized loot and the excitement of trying different weapon combinations, and one specifically praises the metal soundtrack. Others describe the runs as repetitive or tedious, with recycled-feeling levels; one review also criticizes enemy visibility in dark settings and another finds bosses a slog.
