The story follows Destin Billows, who enrolls at South Cirrus Junior High while seeking a world without football. His path crosses with Harper Evans at Raimon, and the story unfolds through school life, exploration, side activities, and the effort to build a team.
Matches combine football actions such as passing, dribbling, defending, and shooting with one-on-one duels and special techniques. A shared Tension gauge limits when techniques can be used, so players must weigh powerful moves against saving energy for later.
Players collect and train a roster of more than 5,400 characters from across the series, developing them through levels and skill trees. Chronicle Mode revisits past matches, while Bond Station lets players customize a town and avatar, invite friends, and play together; online matches offer another way to compete.

When these two cross paths, a tale begins to unfold...
