You play as the museum researcher from Machinika: Museum, stranded aboard a crashed alien vessel on Atlas, a moon of Saturn. Investigating the ship’s rooms and devices reveals clues about the vessel and what happened there.
The main activity is examining and manipulating alien machinery: rotate parts, align components, operate controls, and look for details that show how each mechanism works. Movement between areas is guided, with options for point-and-click or free movement.
Solving puzzles opens access to more of the ship and advances efforts to repair it. Hints and the option to skip puzzles are available, while the story continues the events of the previous game without requiring players to have played it.
Players who enjoyed the game often praised its hands-on alien-machine puzzles, approachable pace, and the atmosphere created by its visuals and sound. Some found the puzzles satisfying and logical, while others felt they were too easy, repetitive, or occasionally unclear. The short playtime and dialogue also drew criticism from some reviewers.
