After buying an old computer at a garage sale, you turn it on without erasing its contents. You take the role of a curious snoop exploring the private digital traces left by its previous owner.
Navigate a retro-style desktop, opening files and browsing chat logs and other computer content. Look for clues, work out passwords, and solve puzzles to access more of the computer.
As you progress, fragments of the former owner's life build a psychological-horror mystery. The early-internet setting and details across the computer help connect the puzzles to the story.
Reviewers often praise the nostalgic early-2000s computer and internet atmosphere, and many find the fragmented story emotionally affecting. The puzzles are commonly described as engaging and reasonably approachable, though some players found particular clues confusing or difficult. Several reviewers also wished the brief experience offered more story or content.
You were always a snoop, weren’t you? That’s why you bought an old computer you saw lying among piles of junk at a garage sale. You didn’t even bother to format the computer before you turned it on. You were curious. After all, a personal computer is an extension of a person’s soul – all their secrets, projects, interactions.
“last seen online” is a psychological horror escape room, based on early flash games. Look through someone's computer files. Solve puzzles and discover the secrets that lie within the computer.
