BeamNG.drive is a vehicle driving simulator built around real-time soft-body physics. Choose from vehicles ranging from compact cars to large trucks, and see their parts deform in collisions in ways that can change how they handle.
Drive across varied environments in free roam, or customize vehicles by adjusting components such as wheels, suspension, and engines. Test how different setups behave on roads and terrain, and experiment with objects and environmental conditions.
Structured activities include delivery missions, police pursuits, scenarios, and time trials. Players can also create maps and scenarios with the World Editor, and add community-made vehicles, maps, and other content through mods.
In this selected review sample, players often praise the detailed vehicle physics and crash damage, along with the freedom to drive, experiment with builds, and pursue different activities. Mod support is another recurring source of variety. Some reviewers mention demanding hardware requirements or performance problems; a few also criticize aspects of the tire simulation or the lack of built-in objectives.

| Multiplayer | BeamNG.drive is primarily presented here as a single-player game. Multiplayer is repeatedly described in reviews as available through a third-party mod/client called BeamMP rather than native official support. Reviews indicate online play with friends and public servers, including racing, police chases, free-roam, and other shared sandbox activities. |
| Multiplayer & mods | Multiple reviews state the game does not natively support official multiplayer and that multiplayer is enabled through the third-party BeamMP mod/client. Reviews describe BeamMP as allowing play with friends, joining servers, and doing most activities together; some reviews also mention bugs/jank. One review mentions local multiplayer mode and online multiplayer beta possible, but this is not confirmed elsewhere. |
