Set after the Revue Starlight movie, the story follows the 99th Class of Seisho Music Academy as they prepare to perform El Dorado for the school festival. The play centers on two leads, and the students must decide who will take those roles.
This is a story-focused visual novel: read the girls’ conversations, relationships, and preparations for the stage across routes that feature different pairs of lead performers. Choices lead to multiple endings, and the routes offer different takes on the play and its cast.
Reading aids include auto mode, volume controls, and a backlog. A gallery lets players revisit artwork and music; after completing the routes, players can also select performers to stage their own version of El Dorado.
Players who enjoy the franchise often praise the chance to spend more time with its characters, see their relationships develop through different lead pairings, and experience an emotionally affecting conclusion. The music and voiced performances also stand out for some reviewers. Others find the routes too similar or say the story depends on familiarity with the series.
