Set in an alternate 1970s Southeast Asia, the prologue follows a commander leading a mecha squad behind enemy lines. Its opening chapter introduces a conflict-torn region through missions and field exploration.
Combat is turn-based and tactical: move and attack with action points, scout through fog of war, and use cover, elevation, and positioning. Mechs have individually damageable parts, so targeting specific components can disable enemies or destroy their bodies.
Between battles, explore a field map, encounter events, and search for supplies and repair locations. Customize mech colors, swap parts, and equip weapons; damage and ammunition can carry between fights, while destroyed pilots may be lost.
Players often praise the tactical battles, especially the role of scouting, positioning, terrain, and damage to individual mech parts. Mech customization and the war setting also appeal to many reviewers. Some find the combat engagingly challenging, while others object to squad losses and lingering damage, and several criticize the dialogue or find the prologue too limited.
