In The Spell Brigade, you play as a wizard facing waves of dark creatures on arena-like maps, alone or with up to three other players. The game is a top-down survivors-like focused on staying alive as the enemy numbers grow.
Move through the battlefield to avoid enemies while your spells attack, defeat monsters, and take on team objectives that arise during a run. Boss encounters add another challenge, and friendly fire can put teammates in the path of your attacks; Revive Cores let fallen wizards blast themselves and allies back into action.
As you progress through a run, choose upgrades for your spells and character, and augment spells with elemental infusions. Between runs, you can unlock wizards and permanent enhancements. The game also includes endless runs and run modifiers.
