Viractalia is a miniature fantasy world explored by a party of up to three characters. In each scenario, guide the party through quests and encounters as you prepare to take on a boss. Play solo or with friends.
Roll dice to move around procedurally generated maps. Any movement points you don't use become DP, which can be spent on actions such as exploring or resting. Events, side paths, and quest decisions can provide items, abilities, and other rewards.
When combat begins, the party fights together regardless of where its characters are on the map. Each character has an individual skill-card deck, while cards generate or spend shared Will resources. Level up, develop abilities, and choose cards to shape each character's role; completing runs also earns resources to unlock more content.
Players who enjoy the game often highlight its cooperative sessions and the planning involved in combining characters' cards, abilities, and resources. Reviews also praise the board-game and deck-building mix, charming visuals, and the discoveries offered by changing maps and events. Some players find the card rewards, controls, or amount of content frustrating.
