Set in Middle-earth's Fourth Age, the game casts you as a dwarf answering Gimli's call to reclaim Moria, the ancient kingdom beneath the Misty Mountains. Explore its mines, uncover remnants of Dwarven history and progress through a story campaign or a sandbox mode.
Gather ore, wood, food and other materials to craft tools, weapons, armor, meals and brewing equipment. Explore procedurally generated underground areas, restore forges and statues, and build or repair bases in cleared locations. You can also customize your dwarf.
Survival involves managing hunger, sleep, temperature, light and noise while facing hostile creatures and raids. Finding resources and restoring landmarks unlocks crafting recipes and stronger equipment. Play alone or in online co-op with up to eight players.
Players who enjoy the game often praise the atmosphere of Moria, its Tolkien references and the sense of exploring and restoring a lost Dwarven home.
