Ballistic Overkill is a first-person multiplayer shooter built around seven combat classes, each with its own style, weapons, and visual design. Players choose a class and select from its loadouts before entering a match.
Combat takes place across ten maps in six modes: Team Deathmatch, Free for All, Capture Point, King of the Hill, Rounds, and Juggernaut. The classes cover roles such as close-range rushing, stealth, ranged attacks, and heavy firepower.
Players can complete daily missions for scrap, which can be redeemed for crates. The game also features more than 80 weapons, unlockable skins, and class-based lockboxes; skins can be traded or sold through the Steam Marketplace.
Several reviewers fondly remember playing Ballistic Overkill, including on Facebook, and describe it as a good or memorable FPS. Nostalgia and requests for the game to return recur in the sample, while other reviewers lament that it is abandoned, its servers are gone, or it is no longer available.
