You play as a stranded runner moving through the Backrooms in a story-led first-person horror adventure. Play alone or with others as you search for a way forward and piece together what happened through journals, recordings, and other traces left behind.
Explore connected environments, solve puzzles involving switches and other clues, and navigate platforming challenges. Hostile entities can force you to hide, flee, or defend yourself; some threats react to sound, while others exploit darkness or movement.
Scavenge supplies to maintain your health and mental state, manage your inventory, and use gathered materials and blueprints to craft equipment. Death sends you into a surreal Tesseract realm before a possible return, with a cost to time, resources, or your team's safety.
