Enter the Gungeon is a bullet hell dungeon crawler following a band of misfits seeking to shoot, loot, dodge roll and table-flip their way to personal absolution by reaching the legendary Gungeon’s ultimate treasure: the gun that can kill the past.

Choose one of several heroes, each entering the Gungeon in search of a way to change their past. The goal is to descend through its gun-themed labyrinth, facing armed enemies and bosses along the way.
Clear rooms in top-down bullet-hell combat: aim and shoot, read enemy attack patterns, and dodge-roll through volleys of projectiles. Gather weapons and items, manage ammunition and other resources, and visit merchants to buy useful gear.
Each run combines hand-designed rooms into a procedurally generated dungeon, with changing weapons, items, and possible synergies. Discover secrets, meet characters who offer missions, and unlock more gear and playable heroes as you return for further runs. Local co-op is also available.
Players often enjoy experimenting with the broad, quirky selection of guns and items, especially when combinations change how a run plays. Many also find the demanding combat rewarding as they learn enemy patterns and improve their dodging, and cite the secrets, unlocks, humor, and replayable runs as reasons to return. Some reviews also describe the early difficulty, grind, and unlucky loot as frustrating.
