Blast Coconuts from Payphones
A BRAZILIAN BOOMER SHOOTER GAME MADE USING THE ID TECH 2 ENGINE! SHOOT, JUMP, EMBARK ON A JOURNEY THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF RIO DE JANEIRO, HELL AND EVEN HEAVEN! SAVE BRAZIL!
Developed by Joeveno · Published by Joeveno, NoQuarter
You play a fan of musician Mit Aia who attempts to revive him with a ritual in the favela where you live. The ritual opens a portal to hell, and demons and other possessed beings spread across Rio de Janeiro; your mission is to stop the invasion.
Fight with fast, Quake-inspired movement, jumping and a collection of firearms and unconventional weapons, including a berimbau and a payphone that shoots coconuts. Find pastel and cane broth scattered through levels to restore health, and use rocket jumps on replays to reach secret areas.
The game has 56 stages spanning campaign, horde, goblin-mode and deathmatch maps, with locations ranging from Rio and São Paulo to space, hell and heaven. Campaign maps also support co-op and deathmatch.
In this helpfulness-selected sample, players often enjoy the game's chaotic Brazilian references and irreverent humor alongside its brisk, Quake-style combat, varied weapons and inventive levels. Some also praise the energetic music, though others find the sound and visuals overwhelming, so the deliberately abrasive presentation is not a universal draw.
