Back by popular demand, The Secret of Monkey Island™: Special Edition faithfully re-imagines the internationally-acclaimed classic game (originally released in 1990) for original and new audiences alike.
Developed by LucasArts · Published by LucasArts, Lucasfilm, Disney

Guybrush Threepwood arrives on Mêlée Island with little money and a big ambition: to become a pirate. His curious, awkward journey draws him into a humorous search for the fabled secret of Monkey Island.
Explore locations, talk with eccentric characters, inspect objects, and use items to solve puzzles and advance through a series of pirate trials. Insult swordfighting turns verbal comebacks into a contest of wit rather than reflexes.
The Special Edition adds hand-drawn visuals, voice acting, and a remastered musical score, while letting you switch to the original graphics at any time. An in-game hint system offers help when puzzles stall your progress.
In the supplied reviews, players often enjoy the sharp comedy, memorable dialogue, and eccentric characters, alongside puzzles that reward curiosity and creative thinking. Insult swordfighting and the option to switch between classic and updated graphics are recurring highlights; voice acting and music also earn praise. Some players find particular puzzles hard to read, and opinions differ on the new character art and interface.
