After a burned-out player falls asleep at his computer, he wakes inside the 1,000th game he added to his library. In a world where robots are rounding up residents, he fights and explores in search of a way back to reality.
Combat is third-person action built around attacks, special moves, dodges, and parries. Runs pit players against waves of enemies and bosses, with enemy attack patterns to learn and different characters offering distinct abilities and playstyles.
During a run, players collect buffs and assign them to actions such as attacks, dodges, and parries, building chains of effects. Between runs, they can improve characters and acquire, upgrade, and customize equipment. The game features seven characters, four stages, and 16 bosses.
Players who enjoy the game often praise the responsive dodge-and-parry combat, the freedom to attach and chain buffs around different actions, and the variety between characters. Some also like its flashy presentation and quick-to-start format. Criticism commonly focuses on boss attacks that can leave little room to counter, a combat loop that can become overly reliant on dodging and parrying, and progression or builds that some players find repetitive or grindy. Experiences with technical stability also differ.
On the 27th consecutive night of working overtime, you finally return to your empty room and, as usual, switch on your computer. Instinctively, you add a game that catches your eye to your library.
It’s your 1000th one.
