A zombie outbreak has overtaken a secret research base after scientists became monsters. In the campaign, you battle through contaminated areas to investigate the catastrophe and stop the infection from spreading.
Combat is viewed from above and centers on fighting large groups of zombies with a range of weapons. You can also use gadgets such as medkits, flashlights, battle drones, and radar.
Earn experience by killing enemies to improve your character, and spend money to upgrade weapons. Alongside the campaign, Survive and Gun Stand modes offer additional ways to take on enemies.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its straightforward top-down horde shooting, bloody action, retro feel, and weapon-upgrade progression. Several also value it as a short, nostalgic action game, while others find the combat repetitive or too similar to earlier games in the series.
