You play as Rayna, an insurance adjuster pulled from her desk when an ancient threat defeats the heroes her company insures. She joins a new party to face the danger and challenge the resulting claims, mixing fantasy adventure with corporate paperwork and satire.
Combat takes place on grid-based maps in turn-based encounters. Position party members, use their distinct abilities and take advantage of elemental matchups to defeat enemies and meet optional battle objectives.
Between battles, spend limited break time talking with teammates, developing platonic or romantic bonds, managing burnout, and improving the party. Equipment, abilities and promotion paths offer ways to tailor characters as the campaign progresses; player reviews also note an option to ease or disable time management.
