In the Serus System, you pilot a mining machine repurposed for security after a hostile force threatens your company's operations. The single-player campaign follows your work with Horizon Security as you defend company territory and investigate the threat.
Choose a mech chassis and equip it with weapons such as lasers, missiles, and cannons, plus passive and active modules. Battles emphasize managing the machine's momentum, positioning, and weapons; jump jets let you make aerial moves. You can pilot with motion controls in VR or play on a standard screen.
Alongside the campaign, you can play offline, on a local network, or online, with bots available across modes. Multiplayer supports up to 16 players and includes Salvage, where teams recover and protect a Decker machine; Stockpile, focused on controlling factories; and HoverBrawl, a mech-based game of soccer.
Players who enjoy the game often praise the feeling of piloting a massive machine, especially its weighty movement, cockpit immersion, and mech combat. Others find the controls and movement sluggish or clumsy, and several criticize the campaign's pacing, story, or extended downtime. Some reviewers also report difficulty finding multiplayer opponents.
