Based on the Kaiju No. 8 world, the game casts you as a commander of Defense Force officers battling Kaiju. Its story includes a retelling of anime events alongside original narratives and character stories.
Battles are turn-based: choose officers’ skills, match attacks to enemy armor weaknesses, and break through armor to expose a Kaiju’s core. Once exposed, the core can be targeted with powerful ultimate attacks.
Develop officers and their weapons by clearing story and training stages for upgrade materials. The game also includes an expedition mode, auto-battles, and the option to skip stages you have already cleared.
Players who enjoy the game often value it as additional Kaiju No. 8 story, especially its original character material, anime-style visuals, and voice acting. Some also enjoy planning turns around armor weaknesses and find auto-battles and stage skips convenient.
