The bells have fallen silent. The descent has just begun.

A mortal blade, an empty heaven, and a hundred floors of a parish that stopped praying. Demonfall is a side-on souls-like about patience: every swing commits you, every blow costs stamina, and the way down only opens for people who learn what the dark is about to do.

Combat that punishes hurry — Light blows chain, heavy blows are charged and break a guard, and a roll carries invincibility for a handful of frames, all of it spent from one stamina bar. Raise your guard a moment before a strike and it becomes a perfect guard: the attacker is thrown open, and the blade goes in. Overdraw your stamina and you will stand there with nothing left, watching the arm come down.

Ten stages that do not repeat — From the Ashen Parish to the Empty Throne, by way of the Mourning Fields, the Drowned Catacombs and the Furnace of Names. Each stage branches after its second floor — an upper way or a lower way — and they meet again before the guardian's fog gate.

The vigil is the only mercy — There is no autosave. A vigil restores you and records your journey, and raises every foe you killed to do it again. Vigils burn on three floors of a stage and nowhere else, so every step past one is a wager. Die and your souls stay where you fell; your last seconds replay as a red phantom over the bloodstain.

Build the knight you can survive with — Twenty-four skills across three constellations: Iron endures, Veil moves between the blows, Ember carries a forbidden light. Temper your blade, kindle your flask, and carry what you find — a key that opens a vault two floors back, a lantern that shows a wall that was never a wall.
