Detective Jack Foster returns to the Arkham police force and takes on a case that begins as suspected political blackmail. With partner Harvey Whitman, an expert on cults, he investigates a gruesome ritual murder and follows the clues into an occult mystery.
Explore locations around Arkham, inspect detailed pixel-art scenes, question characters, and piece together information through conversations. The investigation brings the detectives into contact with cults, unusual characters, and connections to the Salem witch trials.
Progress through dialogue and inventory puzzles: collect objects, combine them, and use them on people or the environment to advance the case. The adventure features more than 90 backgrounds and draws on cosmic-horror and detective fiction.
Reviewers often praise the atmospheric Lovecraftian mystery, its writing and detective duo, and the detailed pixel art and jazz-inflected music. Along with his new partner, Harvey Whitman, an expert on cults, Foster dives deep into the shadows of the city of Arkham.
The case will get even darker when they find out it is related to three witches that escaped the Salem trials in 1693, and a conspiracy that could put an end to the world as we know it.
