In Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe, two players compete on a large 3×3 board whose nine squares each contain a smaller 3×3 board. Win three small boards in a row to win the match.
Each move sends your opponent to the small board in the corresponding position. If that board is already won or drawn, they may choose any open board. The choice of where to play can shape both the local contest and the overall match.
Choose classic or Ultimate rules, with Forget variants that erase a player's oldest mark in a board on their fourth move there. Play against AI at three difficulty levels, pass-and-play on one PC, or compete through LAN or Steam; rankings and leaderboards are also available.
Players who enjoy the game often point to its nested-board rules as a familiar but more tactical take on tic-tac-toe, and like playing short matches with a friend. Other reviews describe it as very simple, with limited appeal for extended solo play; some also mention repetitive AI or little online activity.
