You play as two Source Hunters sent to investigate a murder in the coastal town of Cyseal. What begins as a local case draws them into a larger threat, while dialogue and decisions shape their journey.
Explore the world, talk with its inhabitants, take on quests, search for secrets, and gather companions for a party of up to four. Create characters without rigid class restrictions, develop their skills, and use items and crafting to prepare for challenges.
Combat is turn-based, with action points spent on movement and abilities. Spells and surroundings interact: water can become ice or carry electricity, while oil can be ignited. Play alone or in co-op, including split-screen, and choose among difficulty modes.
Reviewers often enjoy the tactical turn-based combat, especially experimenting with elemental surfaces and battlefield control. Many also appreciate the freedom to explore and solve quests in different ways, as well as co-op, humor, and voice acting. Some find the game's sparse guidance, puzzles, difficulty spikes, and slower pacing frustrating.

Steam features list cross-platform multiplayer, Remote Play Together, and reviews describe seamless local join/leave and dynamic split-screen. |
| Multiplayer & mods | Reviews state the base game is designed for 2-player co-op. Multiple reviews mention a mod that can expand play to 4 players, but this is modded and not part of the standard supported player count. One review explicitly says this is 'moddable to 4 players on own risk.' |
