Chosen to use the Chronicon, a magical device that opens portals into the souls and memories of long-dead heroes, you revisit their tales. The campaign spans five acts, each with its own storyline, and offers four classes: Templar, Berserker, Warden, and Warlock.
Fight through fantasy areas and procedurally generated dungeons, defeating groups of monsters and bosses while collecting equipment. You can play alone or team up with up to three others in local co-op.
Develop your character through class skill trees, abilities, perks, and endless Mastery ranks. Crafting lets you enchant, gem, empower, and inscribe equipment with runes; after the campaign, randomized dungeons, bosses, and endgame crafting provide further ways to pursue gear and refine builds.
In this helpfulness-selected sample, players often praise the range of character builds, the loot-and-crafting systems, and the satisfying rhythm of clearing enemies and growing stronger. Some also appreciate being able to respec freely and play at a relaxed pace. Criticisms recur around repetitive late-game grinding, while some players find skill casting stiff, the campaign too easy, or the pixel visuals rough.
