Ymir is a 4X multiplayer strategy game combined with a city builder where each player develops a civilization of pigmen starting at the stone age.

Develop a pig-people civilization beginning in the Stone Age. A world map links procedurally generated regions that can be explored, settled, and built upon; each region’s climate and terrain affect the resources found there.
Manage a city and economy shaped by a population that breeds, ages, works, and buys goods on its own. Social classes have different incomes and purchasing power, while supply, demand, and production costs influence prices and the viability of buildings and goods.
Research technologies, trade between regions and players, and use diplomacy to arrange agreements and routes. Battles take place in cities in real time, where you can build fortifications and set defensive plans. Play in shorter real-time sessions or on persistent servers where the world continues while players are offline.
Players who enjoy Ymir often point to its unusual strategy-and-city-building mix and its involved economy, where resource management and changing prices give the game a distinctive challenge. Some also praise the persistent multiplayer experience. Reviews are mixed, with players also reporting steep onboarding, technical problems, and frustrations with combat.
