You are drawn to a hidden WWII-era computer and asked to find a stolen book from its archive. As you communicate with someone over a radio, you investigate the machine and the people who built it, piecing together why the book matters.
Explore the archive by entering codes to retrieve books, letters, journals, and other records. Read the fragments, connect clues about authors, titles, and dates, and use those connections to discover new codes and sources.
The investigation unfolds nonlinearly as you uncover more entries and follow multiple leads. An in-game notebook records information you find, while radio conversations add another thread to the mystery. Your discoveries lead toward several possible endings.
Players who enjoy text-heavy investigation games often praise the satisfaction of connecting coded entries, references, and authors to gradually make sense of the mystery. Many also appreciate the eerie computer-room atmosphere, the literary world built from the archive, and the way discoveries reveal more of the story. Some players find the experience confusing or interrupted by radio dialogue and hints, so these reactions are not universal.
A voice is saying your name. A WWII-era machine, long hidden in a church basement, whirs to life. Through a crackling speaker, a man asks you to find a stolen book. He only knows the title. Time is running out.
The machine, created by Bletchley Park engineers Cecil Caulderly and Beatrice Dooler, contains a vast archive of obscure books, letters, and journals fed in over the span of fifty years in an attempt to crack the code of reality. As their lives fell apart, the machine kept working.
Navigate the computer’s archive. Link its obscure texts and uncover its creators’ secrets. Communicate with the man behind the speaker to figure out your role in this mystery. Destroy the book at the core of the machine — before it’s too late.
Deduce links through the archive to locate hidden sources.
Unravel the stories and unearth the secrets of the books’ authors and the machine's creators.
Map the archive and find the book that will rewrite the world.
