Firewatch is a single-player first-person mystery set in the Wyoming wilderness, where your only emotional lifeline is the person on the other end of a handheld radio.

In 1989, Henry takes a job as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness, stepping away from a difficult life. His supervisor, Delilah, is his only regular contact with the outside world, speaking with him over a handheld radio.
You travel through the forest to carry out lookout duties and small tasks, using a map and compass to find your way. As unusual events draw you farther from the tower, you explore the landscape, examine discoveries, and follow the growing mystery.
Radio conversations and dialogue choices shape your exchanges with Delilah as the story unfolds. A camera lets you take photographs, while the game’s first-person exploration and day-by-day tasks carry the narrative forward.
In this helpfulness-selected sample, players often praise the natural-feeling radio conversations, the immersive wilderness atmosphere, and the emotional, character-focused story. The visuals, sound, voice performances, and gradually building mystery also draw appreciation. Some players find the simple walking and exploration engaging, while others consider the gameplay repetitive or the story’s payoff underwhelming.
