You play as a child facing threats in a bedroom through the night. Your goal is to make it to 6 a.m. while Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and other creatures lurk nearby.
Check the bedroom doors, closet, and bed for danger. Listen for breathing and footsteps to judge when to close a door or use your flashlight; shining it at a threat too close can be fatal.
Survive a series of nights, with brief minigames between them. Later nights and optional challenges add tougher tests of timing and attention.
Players often praise the sound-led gameplay for making each check feel tense: quiet breathing and footsteps demand close attention, while sudden attacks heighten the pressure. Reviews also frequently enjoy the threatening atmosphere and animatronic designs, and some appreciate the challenge and the change from earlier camera-based play. Some players find the game too frightening or the later nights too difficult, while others criticize its loud scares or confusing story details.
