You play an amnesiac who wakes in an unfamiliar room with Shiro, a girl who insists the room is your home and refuses to let you leave. The story follows the two of you through seven days together.
Most of the game centers on reading dialogue and choosing responses during conversations with Shiro. Your choices can affect the story and lead to different endings; some bad endings return you to the decision that triggered them.
A second playthrough adds memory fragments at the ends of days, expanding the story and opening further endings. Day, dusk, and night bring changes in the room's lighting, while Shiro's animated expressions and movements shift with the scenes.
Many reviewers enjoy the story's emotional impact and the way later scenes reframe earlier events, often describing the short visual novel as more affecting than they expected.
