In Story Mode, you drive through a zombie-infested city on the way toward safety. Each route is a side-scrolling obstacle course of zombies, debris, and uneven terrain.

Runs end when you run out of fuel or your vehicle can no longer continue. The distance you travel and zombies you hit earn money for upgrades, so each attempt can help you go farther next time.

As you advance, you unlock ten vehicles and upgrade parts such as engines, tires, fuel tanks, armor, and weapons. Routes include multi-level city areas, and completing the main campaign unlocks Missions Mode, with specific tasks on previously visited maps.
