HEXHOLD: SIX FORMATIONS

From the Devs

A red star fell on Luoyang, and the world slipped into endless night. You're a warlord in the Three Kingdoms era, and your stronghold is the last light left burning.

⚔ Strategy on a Hex Grid

Fight on a honeycomb map where placement is everything. Hills, rivers, and the tiles next to your towers all change how your defenses perform. Every map is generated fresh, so every run plays differently.

🃏 Build a Deck That Clicks

You win by combining effects, not by grinding numbers. Mix and match to find a style that's yours:

• Ranged — portal loops, linked tiles, and burst fire for a screen-filling barrage

• Melee — chain strikes and sword energy for brutal close-range damage

• Spell — frost, fire, lightning, and poison that combine into storms

• Control — slow, freeze, petrify, and time-stop to lock enemies down

• Economy — invest early and snowball into overwhelming force

🏯 Towers You Can Fuse

• Ranged: Arrow Tower, Crossbow, Catapult, Musket Tower, Shotgun Tower...

• Spell: Fire Tower, Frost Tower, Lightning Tower, Poison Tower, Chain Lightning...

• Melee: Blade Barracks, Spear Barracks, Whirlwind Barracks, Axe Barracks...

• Trap: Spike Trap, Fire Pit, Minefield, Net Trap...

• Summon: Skeleton Tower...

Merge identical cards to rank a tower up: Common → Rare → Fine → Epic. Each rank unlocks new tricks for your buildings.

🦸 Three Kingdoms Heroes

• Zhao Yun — speeds up your ranged towers

• Guan Yu — smashes enemies in an area

• Zhang Fei — area burst that also reshapes the terrain

• Zhuge Liang — triggers special cards across the map

• Lü Bu — a relentless attacker with extra build slots

• Diao Chan — charms and stuns to disable foes

• Mi Zhu — boosts your economy

• Hua Tuo — heals and can even bring towers back

• Zhou Yu — unleashes walls of fire

• Cao Cao — a balanced all-rounder

• Sun Shangxiang — rapid sustained fire

• Huang Zhong — a sniper with true damage

Every hero brings a passive, an active skill, and a set of signature cards that change how you build.

👹 A Flood of Enemies

From Yellow Turban rebels to Xiliang cavalry and ghost armies, 20 waves of threats keep coming. Legendary Three Kingdoms commanders — Zhang Jiao, Lü Bu, Dong Zhuo and more — show up as bosses to break your line.

A wide range of enemy traits and affixes make for endless combinations.

⚙ How It Plays

• A run plays out over a satisfying, replayable session.
