Red Chamber Chronicle is a story-rich life simulation and multi-ending narrative game inspired by the classic Chinese novel Dream of the Red Chamber.
Step into the role of Jia Baoyu and enter a living, immersive world where you can explore, build relationships, and reshape destinies. Travel freely between the Grand View Garden, the Jia family's noble estates, and the capital city as you experience an unforgettable journey through prosperity, emotion, and fate.
Experience the changing seasons and relive Baoyu's life from youth to adulthood.
From an innocent young heir born into a powerful aristocratic family to a person caught between tradition, duty, and genuine emotion, every decision you make will influence relationships, events, and the future of the world around you.
There is no single fixed ending.
Form bonds with the Twelve Beauties of Jinling and many other beloved characters from the original novel. Unlock exclusive storylines, private conversations, hidden events, and alternative destinies.
Each character possesses their own personality, emotional journey, and branching fate. Your choices will determine where those paths ultimately lead.
Join poetry gatherings, solve lantern riddles, enjoy banquets, burn incense, play the guqin, stroll through gardens, read, write, brew tea, and create fragrances.
Immerse yourself in the refined daily life of an ancient noble household and discover the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.
As time passes, the world continuously changes:
Flowers bloom and wither, lanterns flicker in the night, and people move through their daily routines, creating a dynamic and ever-evolving Red Chamber world.
The heart of poetry, friendship, and romance.
A world of family power, social hierarchy, and tradition.
A larger society where opportunities, conflicts, and destinies unfold.
Freely travel between locations, discover events, meet characters, and experience unique stories shaped by where you go and whom you encounter.
Your decisions shape both the characters and the world itself.
Create your own version of the Red Chamber story—whether it becomes a tale of fulfillment, regret, seclusion, redemption, or something entirely different.
Every playthrough offers new possibilities.
Every major character features unique affection systems, story branches, and personal events.
From first meetings to lifelong bonds, experience character journeys beyond what was told in the original novel.
NPCs follow schedules, appear in different locations, and react differently depending on the season, time, and circumstances.
The world is not a static backdrop—it continues to live and change alongside you.
Practice poetry, music, strategy games, household management, social activities, and personal development.
Build your own path through the world of the Red Chamber.
Between duty and sincerity.
Between destiny and choice.
You will constantly face decisions that shape the lives of those around you.
Will you follow the tragic course of the original story?
Or will you challenge fate itself and create a new future for everyone?
Before prosperity fades away, the final chapter is yours to write.
May this dream of the Red Chamber leave no regrets.
The beginning of Red Chamber Chronicle was surprisingly simple.
From the very first day until now, this game has been developed entirely by me alone.
I am currently a university student. During my second year, I found myself feeling uncertain about my future and disconnected from my studies. I simply had the thought that perhaps I should try creating something I genuinely cared about.
That idea eventually led me to game development.
Without a mentor, without a team, and without a detailed plan, I began learning and building little by little.
Over time, this project became more than a game. It became something that helped me move through a difficult and uncertain period of life. The more I built, the more focused I became. Eventually, I found myself completely immersed in creating this world.
While reading novels, I became fascinated by fan interpretations of Dream of the Red Chamber. Many people loved these characters and stories, yet very few games truly allowed players to step inside that world.
So I asked myself:
Could the Red Chamber become more than a book?
Could it become a world where people can live, choose, and change their fate?
That simple question became the foundation of this project.
I am not a professional developer, nor did I begin with years of experience.
My development process has largely been:
Learn.
Build.
Start over.
Improve.
Repeat.
This project is not only a game—it is also a record of my own growth and learning journey.
What first attracted me was not its status as a literary classic.
It was the feeling it left behind.
The beauty.
The restraint.
The regrets.
The subtle and complicated relationships between people.
I always felt that simply reading the story was not enough.
I wanted to give it another life.
Not as a novel.
But as a world.
Red Chamber Chronicle already features a freely explorable world and a growing life simulation system inspired by the original novel.
Current features include:
A freely explorable Grand View Garden and Jia family world
Dynamic NPC schedules and time progression systems
Character growth and life simulation activities
Branching storylines and multiple endings
An expanding world that continues to grow with development
The game is not yet complete, but it has already become a world that players can truly live in.
Sometimes it feels slow.
Sometimes it feels impossibly difficult.
But most of the time, it brings a quiet sense of fulfillment.
Because you are not simply finishing tasks on a checklist.
You are building a world with your own hands.
A place that gradually grows into something real.
The complete vision for Red Chamber Chronicle spans seventeen years of life within the world of the Red Chamber.
The upcoming demo will contain the first six years of this journey, offering a substantial introduction to the world, characters, and systems.
The remaining eleven years, along with additional storylines and life chapters, will continue to be developed and expanded over time.
Thank you for taking an interest in this project.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your time in this world.
