We Love It's Guide to…
MASSFALL
Weld physical parts onto the ball to change its shape, weight and bounce—even as pieces break off mid-run. Descend through 99 pinball stages, build your own stages and courses, or bend the rules in MOD MODE. A physics-driven pinball roguelite where the ball is the build.
The Developer Says...
BUILD THE BALL, NOT A STAT SHEET
In MASSFALL, upgrades are physical parts welded directly onto the ball. Up to 12 sockets let you change its silhouette, weight, center of mass and bounce instead of just raising stats. A hammer makes one side heavy, balloons slow the fall, and spikes turn one side into a harder-hitting point.
Parts also take damage. When one breaks off, the ball immediately loses that weight and shape, changing its balance and handling in the middle of a run. For nearly every part type, equipping as many copies as the current core can fit activates a full-set bonus.
DROP, NUDGE, BANK
Choose a drop point with a live trajectory preview, then descend through wells generated from a seed on every run. Nudges, slams and spin taps all consume limited mobility charges, but a held spin keeps going at no extra cost. Break gem nodes to restore charges, use wall launchers to bounce back upward, and turn a bad drop into another scoring pass.
RISK YOUR HEAT
Breaking nodes builds HEAT, but it is not SCORE until you bank it. Pass through golden bank rings to convert it into SCORE. Push for a larger payout, or cash out before a hit to the core reduces your unbanked HEAT.
DESCEND 99 STAGES
Descend through 25 zones built from nine base well themes. Along the way, special layouts and modifiers create climbing stages, wraparound arenas, loops and flooded sections. A boss awaits every fourth stage. Across the three difficulties, the roster spans 13 non-final boss archetypes, and one last machine waits at depth 99.
BUILD YOUR OWN WELLS
Build playable wells in the built-in STAGE EDITOR. Draw straight, polyline or freehand walls, place any of the game's 65 stage object types, adjust stage width and height, set gate requirements and music, then test the result instantly.
Tune individual objects where applicable, and draw motion paths that shuttle back and forth or loop around a route. Choose straight or curved movement and set the speed.
The COURSE WORKSHOP chains your stages and the game's bosses into courses of up to 30 entries. Choose the starting core and parts, decide when shops appear and test from any entry. Custom stages and courses support copy-paste share codes.
TUNE THE RULES
MOD MODE lets you reshape far more than difficulty. Tune dozens of parameters across physics, mobility, parts, shops, objects, hazards and bosses, with per-boss and per-hazard detail pages.
Save four named presets, replace game music with other tracks or your own MP3, OGG or WAV files, and share MOD rule settings by code. MOD runs keep their own scores while discoveries, milestones and unlocks continue to progress.
