From the Devs
Goods nobody wants in one city may be exactly what someone needs in the next. But travel costs, delays, and news along the road can change a promising deal. Roads Beneath the Crown is a single-player medieval trading adventure about finding opportunities with imperfect information—and living with your decisions.
Build a business that suits you
Travel with your caravan and learn what each city needs. Hire employees and open branches to make room for larger plans. Or head to port, mix your cargo, choose a shipping arrangement, and keep several overseas voyages running at once. Combine these approaches in any order.
Look closer before you commit
News can move prices. People can offer clues. A relic's history may sound convincing without being true. Appraisal, research, auctions, and the black market each offer opportunities and risks. Before bidding, decide what you know—and how much uncertainty you can afford.
Grow your guild
Assign staff, arrange logistics, research new methods, and manage cash, financing, and debt. Employees bring abilities and personality bonuses to their work. Finding the right person matters; so does giving them the right job.
EA 1.0 currently includes five starting cities, Traditional Chinese and English, dynamic trading, road encounters, relic appraisal and auctions, the black market, character interactions, guild management, and overseas consignment shipping. You can continue trading beyond day twelve.
Overseas trade currently uses shipping agents to deliver and sell your cargo. Island exploration, imports, and direct ship control are not available yet. Further regions and content are still in development; see the current EA scope for details.
This game uses generative AI during development to assist with selected artwork, relic and character illustrations, and limited text drafts. All generated material was created offline during development, then manually reviewed, edited, integrated, and quality-checked before being included in the game. The game does not generate images, audio, text, code, or other content in real time, and it does not send player data or game content to external AI services during gameplay.
