A Normal Lost Phone

You play as someone who finds an unlocked phone belonging to Sam. As you investigate its contents, you try to understand Sam’s life and what happened around the time they turned 18 and disappeared.

The game takes place through a simulated smartphone interface. You browse messages, photos, emails, and other apps, reading conversations and details that offer clues about Sam’s friends, family, and relationships.

Some apps and information are locked behind passcodes. Use clues found elsewhere on the phone to unlock more of its contents and gradually assemble the story.

In this sample, players often praise the phone-based investigation for making the story feel personal, and describe the writing and emotional themes—especially its portrayal of queer experiences—as affecting or meaningful. Some also enjoy the soundtrack and puzzles woven into the phone interface. Others find the experience very text-heavy or brief, and a number mention difficulty with particular passcode clues or wanting more interaction.
