You serve aboard the U.S.S. Aegis as it explores the largely uncharted Trench in search of a new home for the Vulcan population. Klingon activity in the region threatens the mission.
Players take the Captain, Helm, Tactical, or Engineer role, each handling different duties. The crew makes decisions, pilots the ship, manages weapons and shields, and balances power and repairs through coordinated action.
Play in VR or without it, alone or in co-op. Alongside the story campaign, Ongoing Missions generates repeatable assignments for solo or cooperative crews; a single-player mode can use AI crew members.
Players who enjoy the game often praise the immersive feeling of serving on a Star Trek bridge, the atmosphere, and the teamwork involved in running a ship with friends. Some also appreciate the range of mission activities and the option to play alone. These positive impressions are frequently tempered by complaints about the game being removed from sale, limited ongoing support, and problems with microphones, booting, or multiplayer connections.
