Lara Croft explores the ruins of an ancient civilization while uncovering the myth of the Queen of Venom. The adventure is presented as a series of compact, isometric puzzle stages rather than a fast-paced action game.
Movement follows paths across a grid-like layout, one step at a time. After Lara moves, enemies and moving hazards take their turns too, so progress depends on planning routes and timing actions around their patterns. Levers, switches, platforms, crumbling surfaces, and other traps add new challenges.
Stages gradually introduce and combine mechanics. Optional hidden relic pieces and other collectibles reward observation, and completing relic sets unlocks outfits for Lara. A hint system can guide players through a stage when they get stuck.
Reviewers often appreciate the turn-based puzzles for making each move a small planning challenge, and describe solving their sequences as satisfying. The stylized visuals and calm music also recur as strengths, while opinions differ on difficulty: some find the later puzzles challenging, others find the game easy. Awkward PC controls and the short length are recurring criticisms.
