Anne serves as an enforcer in the Forgotten Lands, a realm where lost and discarded human objects become living Forgotlings. When a rebellion threatens the order maintained by Anne and her mentor Bonku, she sets out to address the conflict and find a path home.
Explore the 2D world by running, jumping, climbing, and gliding between locations, while talking with Forgotlings and solving environmental puzzles. Anne uses an Arca device to channel Anima, the energy that powers machinery and gives life to the realm.
Dialogue and actions shape Anne’s interactions with others and influence how the story unfolds. As she progresses, Anne gains abilities and access to new areas; the journey combines platforming and puzzle-solving with branching decisions about how to deal with the Forgotlings she encounters.
Players often praise the hand-drawn presentation, imaginative world of living forgotten objects, and story-driven journey, with music, voice acting, and memorable characters also recurring highlights. Some enjoy the light puzzles and choices, while others find the platforming controls sluggish, the dialogue or pacing slow, and the choices less consequential than expected.
