I Expect You To Die

You play as a secret agent on missions against Zoraxis, an organization with plans for world domination. Each mission places you in a fixed position inside a virtual reality environment, designed to be played seated.

Search each room for clues and useful objects, then manipulate them by hand or with telekinesis to solve escape-room puzzles. Experiment carefully: mechanisms and seemingly ordinary objects can trigger dangerous traps, and some challenges put you under time pressure.

The campaign contains seven missions. Failure can send you back to the start of a mission, so each attempt builds on what you have learned. Optional objectives, achievements, souvenirs, and speedrun challenges offer additional goals beyond completing the puzzles.

Players often praise the clever escape-room puzzles and the humor of its over-the-top spy-movie presentation. Many also enjoy manipulating objects in seated VR and the variety of the short missions; some mention extra objectives and challenges as reasons to revisit them. A recurring criticism is that trial and error can mean replaying a whole mission after failure, especially when a timed puzzle is difficult.
