Detective Sebastian Castellanos returns to the STEM simulation after learning that his daughter, Lily, is alive inside it. He ventures into the nightmare world of Union to find her, where the town and its inhabitants are shaped by distorted minds.
Explore Union’s larger districts for supplies and clues, take on optional missions, and move between those areas and more linear sequences. When enemies block the way, you can sneak, lure them away, run, or fight with firearms and traps.
Scavenged materials let you craft ammunition and medical supplies, while resources gathered during your journey support weapon and character upgrades. Choosing when to conserve supplies, improve your abilities, or engage enemies shapes how you handle each encounter.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its more flexible combat, stealth options, and semi-open areas that reward exploration and scavenging. The story’s focus on Sebastian and his daughter also resonates with some reviewers, as do the visual design and atmosphere. Others find the shift toward open areas and action makes the experience less frightening than the first game, and some criticize stealth balance, shooting, or dialogue.
