Stanley survives a violent plane crash on a remote, frozen island off Iceland and sets out to find his wife, Leonore. As he searches, he must also keep traces of their bloody Irish past from being discovered.
Played from a first-person perspective, the game centers on walking through and exploring the island. Players follow clues and find manuscript pages scattered across the landscape, with puzzles also part of the adventure.
The story and the couple’s past emerge through discoveries and cutscenes, with parts of the backstory revealed non-linearly. Rescue is on the way, adding urgency to Stanley’s search and his effort to keep the past hidden.
Players who enjoyed the game often praise its story, Icelandic scenery, and voice acting, with some also noting that the soundtrack complements the atmosphere. Reactions to the walking-simulator pace vary: some found the story immersive, while others felt it moved too slowly or found the game confusing. One reviewer also described it as short, with an abrupt ending.
