You play as a lone, cloaked traveler crossing a vast desert toward a distant mountain. With no spoken dialogue, the world’s ruins, images, and music offer clues to the journey.
Explore sandy slopes and ancient structures on foot, then jump and glide to cross gaps and reach higher ground. A short chime lets you interact with cloth elements in the environment.
You may encounter another traveler online. You can journey together and help each other, communicating only through chimes; traveling alone is also possible.
Reviewers often praise Journey’s striking landscapes, evocative music, quiet storytelling, and calm pace. Many describe meeting an anonymous player and helping one another through the journey as especially memorable. Some appreciate its brief, simple format, while others find the gameplay too sparse or wish it lasted longer; a few report audio problems in the PC version.
