Beginning in January 1976, you take charge of a new video-game company and grow it from a small operation into a larger business. Develop games as the industry and its technology change over time.
For each project, choose a genre, theme, platform, and age rating, then assign staff and allocate development effort across game aspects. You can also create engines, take contracts, publish other developers’ games, and market your releases.
Expand by renting, buying, or building premises and running multiple studios. Hire specialists and studio directors to handle work such as development, updates, and ports; later, you can build consoles, run a digital store, and acquire rival companies. Difficulty settings and sandbox mode let you adjust the experience.
Players who enjoy management and tycoon games often appreciate the range of ways to grow a game business, especially running multiple studios, creating consoles, and automating work through studio directors. Reviews also praise the long-term progression and the developer’s continued updates. Some players, however, find parts of the management systems shallow or the later game repetitive.
