Sniper Elite VR

In 1943, you play an Italian resistance fighter recounting his wartime experiences as he battles occupying forces in southern Italy. The campaign unfolds through his memories across a series of missions.

Move through first-person levels, using stealth, cover and distractions to get past enemy troops and vehicles or engage them directly. Aim rifles through their scopes, account for bullet drop and wind, and operate weapons by hand in VR.

The campaign features rifles, SMGs, pistols, shotguns, grenades and explosives, with missions built around different combat objectives. Mission challenges award stars needed to unlock further progress, while replayable levels and an X-ray kill-cam add other ways to revisit the action.

Reviews are divided. Some players enjoy the embodied rifle aiming, the satisfaction of landing sniper shots and seeing the slow-motion kill-cam, as well as the campaign's missions and replay value. Others say awkward VR controls and weapon handling, along with star requirements that send them back to earlier missions, undermine the experience.
