Scavenger SV-4 is a highly replayable atmospheric first-person science fiction game. Part simulator, part roguelike, it has elements of action, combat, resource management, and a dash of horror. It is not quite like any game you have played before.

You are a lone explorer aboard a ship in orbit above an uncharted, radioactive planet. Since landing is too dangerous, you send a remote-controlled rover to investigate the surface and the remains of an alien civilization.
Pilot the rover through a grainy, interference-prone feed, search derelict sites, collect samples and artifacts, and face hostile machines and other threats. Back aboard the ship, research your finds and use recovered objects to equip the rover.
Each expedition puts potential earnings against the risks of radiation, damage, and limited resources. Runs feature different characters and backstories, and your choices shape the expedition’s outcome and epilogue.
Players often praise the lonely, eerie atmosphere and the distinctive loop of remotely exploring a planet, recovering finds, and managing the risks of an expedition. Some also enjoy discovering new events and character stories across runs. Criticism commonly focuses on the game’s limited length and repetition; several reviews also report crashes or performance problems, and some find its mechanics poorly explained.
