Make Mars your own! Take control of the world’s most sophisticated AI (AMI) and terraform the surface of the Red Planet for a city-building experience on a planetary scale. Transform this barren world into a lush paradise and explore the surface for any ancient secrets that may be waiting.

You play AMI, an artificial consciousness tasked with preparing Mars for human colonization. The campaign follows AMI’s development and its relationships with the colonists as it works through a mission shaped by difficult decisions.
Build mines, factories, power sources, worker hubs, and colony facilities across the planet. Extract and refine resources, keep buildings supplied and maintained by worker drones, and expand into new areas as the colony grows.
Research technologies and undertake large-scale projects that change Mars’s temperature, atmosphere, water, and vegetation. Explore points of interest and remnants of earlier missions as the narrative advances; Sandbox Mode lets you terraform without the campaign, and supports cooperative play for up to four players.
Players who enjoy Per Aspera often praise the satisfaction of watching Mars change, the science-fiction story about an AI, and the calm, long-term rhythm of building and expanding. Some appreciate its visuals, soundtrack, and research progression. Others find the slow stretches, repetitive expansion, and automated drone logistics frustrating, so the patient, low-key pace is not for everyone.
