Yuma Ilvern carries the soul of the Shining Dragon and has been held captive by an Empire seeking the power of ancient dragons. After joining Sonia, princess of Astoria, and the Dragoneers, he fights to stop the Empire's advance and protect their land.
Travel through fantasy regions, battle monsters in real-time action combat, and use attacks, skills, dodges, and party tactics against enemies and bosses. Yuma can also transform into the Shining Dragon, while music-based abilities provide combat support.
Defeated enemies and quests provide experience and materials for strengthening the party through crafting. Players can take on side quests, develop bonds with companions, and choose Refrain Mode, which adds Excella and Jinas as playable party members.
Players who enjoy the game often point to its soundtrack, anime-style character designs, and cast, with some also enjoying the dragon transformation and music-based combat ideas.
