Super Bit Blaster XL is an arcade shoot 'em up built around endless survival runs. You pilot a ship in an open arena as enemies and obstacles grow more numerous.
Your ship is always moving and normally fires automatically, so survival depends on turning, boosting and braking to avoid danger. Collect ammunition and temporary power-ups, including weapon upgrades, shields and screen-clearing bombs.
Earn coins during runs to unlock ships with different attributes, then aim for higher scores and compete on leaderboards. The game also offers local co-op and versus modes, plus an alternate manual-fire option.
In the supplied reviews, players often enjoy the straightforward arcade loop, quick runs and high-score chase, with some praising its retro feel and variety from power-ups and unlockable ships. Local multiplayer is a draw for several players. Others find the movement controls difficult to adapt to or the repeated runs tiring, and one review describes a frustrating controller setup.
I started creating Bit Blaster XL on a whim in late 2015, never expecting how much it would change my life. Its success allowed me to become a full-time game developer, and over the years, I've had incredible opportunities thanks to the amazing community that embraced my little arcade game.
Super Bit Blaster XL is the next evolution of Bit Blaster. With what I've learned in Unity and C#, I've reworked many aspects, adding Co-Op and Vs Mode, improved GFX, new translations, Easter eggs, and a completely overhauled (and optional) control scheme for better responsiveness (though it’s still not a twin-stick shooter).
I chose to release this as a separate title rather than updating the original because the changes are drastic, and I respect the integrity of the game people love.
I truly appreciate your feedback and will continue supporting my games. Feel free to reach out via my website, the Adamvision Discord, or the forums.
